Perimenopause, also known as the menopausal transition, is the stage in a woman’s life that precedes menopause. It represents the time during which the body undergoes hormonal changes that eventually lead to the periods stopping and the onset of menopause. It typically occurs in your late 30s to early 50s.
It can be a confusing worrying time with new symptoms coming and going as your hormones regulate some of which you may not have ever experienced before.
Over the years I have helped patients with the following symptoms as a result of their perimenopausal journey:
Acupuncture for regulation of periods – heavy periods, short cycles, long cycles, painful periods, flooding.
Acupuncture for Mood Swings – feeling “blah”, not feeling the joy in everyday life, irritability, anger, frustration, feeling anxious and overwhelm.
Acupuncture for Fatigue – falling asleep in the early evening, felling exhausted when you get up in the morning, feeling like you have no energy for life.
Acupuncture for Hot flushes and Night Sweats – during the day or night aiming to reduce both frequency and severity.
Acupuncture for Headaches and Migraines – waking up with headaches, headaches behind the eye, on top of the head.
Acupuncture for Sleep Disturbances and Insomnia– either getting off to sleep or waking up in the night and being unable to get back to sleep.
Acupuncture for Bladder issues – urgency to pee, pelvic floor issues, waking up in the night to pee.
Acupuncture for Digestive issues-bloating, stomach cramps, loose bowels, IBS, constipation.
Acupuncture for Join Pain and muscle tension – anywhere on the body, hips, ankles, knees, neck pain.
And so much more.
We will sit together and understand what you are feeling and why you are feeling these symptoms – going through blood tests or, if necessary, understanding what blood tests you should have. Ultimately getting a plan to help you feel better.
